Catch me if you can! E-scooter rider runs rings around police car which chased him in to dead end housing estate

A crafty suspect has been spotted using his scooter riding skills to evade police chasing him in a car.

Footage shows a traffic officer attempting to corner the man in a housing estate, but he easily run rings around him on his more agile set of wheels.

The clip was recorded from an apartment block in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, on Monday.

In the video, a resident a films the man on an electric scooter being chased into a dead end by a police car that has its sirens blaring.

Seen from an apartment above, the man jumps off his scooter as the much faster police vehicle catches up with him. 

An officer immediately appears from the vehicle and races over to grab the suspect.

But with plenty of space to manoeuvre, the man swerves past the officer and hops back onto the scooter and pelts it down the road.

The officer is then forced back into his vehicle and has to turn around to exit the small road.

But by the time he is back in pursuit, the scooter rider has managed to make up significant ground and disappears down a pedestrian path. 

It is not known why the police were chasing man or whether he was later captured.
