JBSA officials said they did not 'assess there is a danger to JBSA residents or the community'.

Officials did not say if they believed foul play was involved, only that 'the incident is under investigation'.

The soldier is the second in the past five months to be found deceased on the JBSA-Fort Sam Houston base.

In July, Sgt Kelvonta K. Ellis, 22, from Westlake, Louisiana, was found dead in his room at the base. Ellis was served five years in the Louisiana Army National Guard as a Military Police Noncommissioned Officer.

His death is still under investigation by officials at the base.

Fort Sam Houston is one of three large military bases in San Antonio that make up the joint base, which is managed by the Air Force. The joint base supports about 47,000 service members.
