Frightening moment a stolen car spins out of control into oncoming traffic after hitting police road spikes on a busy highway

The horrific moment a stolen car spins out of control and ends up on the wrong side of the road has been captured on aerial footage. 

The Subaru Impreza, was allegedly stolen by a man in his 30s, from a home on Dawson Street, Armadale in Perth, before it burst into flames in the crash on Monday.

The alleged theft was reported to police who spotted the vehicle on Forrest Highway, South Yunderup on Tuesday and began to chase it down about 10.20am.

The car allegedly drove through to the wrong side of the road and a Toyota Rav4 smashed into the Subaru causing it to spin out-of-control

Terrifying footage shows the driver allegedly speeding down the highway as police monitored the situation from a helicopter. 

The car was reportedly travelling at speed before it ran over some road spikes.  

The motorist then allegedly drove on the wrong side of the road and a Toyota Rav4 smashed into the Subaru causing it to spin out-of-control.

The front of the car burst into flames from the heavy impact of the collision as it came to a complete stop.

A police officer was seen running toward the vehicle and opened the door, aiming a taser at the alleged driver who appeared to be unconscious.

He dragged the alleged driver out and he was taken to Royal Perth Hospital due to the minor injuries.

The driver of the Toyota Rav4, a woman in her 50s, was taken to Peel Health Campus after suffering minor injuries.

The man was charged with failed to comply with a direction to stop, dangerous driving causing bodily harm, endanger life, health and safety, no authority to drive, steal motor vehicle and drive recklessly, and steal motor vehicle. 

He appeared in court on Tuesday via bedside hearing.
