Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Mackensie Alexander has been arrested in Florida on one count of battery after receiving permission from the team to leave training camp to search for his missing father, who disappeared on Monday.
Jail records show that Alexander was arrested by the Collier County Sheriff's Office on a charge of batter and remained in custody as of Wednesday morning.
The arrest report has not been released, but according to the NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Alexander was booked after confronting the man who allegedly left his father behind on Monday following a trip to pick berries on a prairie in Okeechobee County.
Meanwhile Florida police are continuing to search for Alexander's father, 65-year-old Jean Odney Alexandre (different spellings for their last names).

According to police, Alexandre traveled from his home in Immokalee, Florida to Okeechobee County with another man to pick palmetto berries on a prairie in northwest Okeechobee County.
However, according to Peliserro, the man left Alexandre behind.
Alexandre was reported missing to Collier County Sheriff's Office, which enlisted the help of the the Okeechobee office. Since then, deputies, K-9 teams, the Florida Wildlife Commission and St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office have all joined the search.
'I can tell you that we have helicopter and ground searches in Okeechobee County that will be going on through the night,' the Collier Country Sheriff's Department said in a statement given to Pelissero.
The 26-year-old Alexander signed with Cincinnati as a free agent over the offseason after playing his first four NFL seasons with the Minnesota Vikings.
