Blood on her hands: Chloe Moretz shrieks and squirms


Horror aficionados pay heed: The upcoming Carrie remake promises to be as scary as the original Seventies flick.
The full trailer was released on Thursday evening, and it is sure to excite and terrify fans.
The chilling two-and-a-half-minute video shows Chloe Moretz screaming and causing mayhem with her telekinetic powers in the title role.

Despite her sweet appearance and soft demeanour in the film, Chloe, as tormented shy school girl Carrie White, means business.
 
In the new trailer, the brunette star is seen discovering her secret powers - she can move things with her mind.
Starting off small by making a flag outside her classroom move, the young girl then researches and hones her skill so that she can levitate her bed and herself.

But as the ominous music predicts, levitating and causing power outages is just the beginning for this teased girl.
The trailer starts with the words: 'In every neighbourhood there is one family with a secret no one talks about' while a girl's shrieks can be heard in the background.
Julianne Moore - who plays Carrie's pious mother - is then seen singing a haunting song as she cuts up clothing.

Carrie is then shown at school, and her voiceover states:
'The other kids think I'm weird. I wanna be normal. I have to try to be a whole person before it's too late.'
We see Carrie looking distraught, wrapped in a towel next to a pool at school, a crowd of girls surrounding her as they laugh and take cellphone pictures.

Her mother is then shown praying and opening the closet door under the stairs, telling her to 'go to the closet and pray.'
She then proceeds to throws her daughter in as Carrie screams and protests.
'You pray little girl, you pray for forgiveness,' her mother demands.
'Let me go,' Carrie screams, as her mother keeps knocks her own head against the wall.
Suddenly, the closet door cracks, and both mother and daughter, on either side of the door, look stunned.

'If I concentrate hard enough I can make things move,' says Carrie.
In a particularly chilling scene Carrie is shown on her bed as it levitates above the floor, surrounded by floating books.
Then Carrie is shown causing her mother to lift into the air.
When Carrie is elated after being asked to prom by a handsome football player, her mother says 'no, no, no, they're all going to laugh at you.'

Her mother's prediction comes trues, and scenes of the mayhem she causes at prom flash by after she is humiliated by her peers.
The film is directed by Kimberly Peirce, who was behind controversial but awarding winning films Boys Don't Cry and Stop-Loss, and is already receiving a lot of hype despite it being a remake.
 
The movie is a re-imagining Stephen King's first novel of the same title and follows the 1976 original, directed by Scarface's Brian De Palma.
The terrifying original starred a young Sissy Spacek.

Both follow the same story imagined by King whereby Carrie is a shy girl outcast by her peers and overly sheltered by her deeply religious mother.
However, she goes from shy to deadly when she unleashes telekinetic terror after her prom pushes her over the edge.
The new film will be released in October 18 - just in time for Halloween - in America and on October 29 in England.
