She is famed for her more casual style and regularly is spotted out and about in New York City make-up free with her hair pulled into a scruffy ponytail.
But Katie Holmes appeared to have put on a more glamorous pose for her gym I.D. badge.
The 34-year-old actress's wore the identification around her neck and it showed her with a smoothed down chic side ponytail, what appeared to be subtle make-up and a scoop neck black top.

The star's outfit was typically understated with a black leggings, mustard coloured ballet pumps, and a black double breasted coat to keep her warm on Thursday morning.

She clutched a white gym bag which contained her workout clothes on Thursday morning.
Katie, who was without her six-year-old daughter Suri, seemed in good spirits as she made her way into the workout.
Mother and daughter celebrated Easter together at a brunch in the city on Sunday, with Suri all dressed up in a pretty white dress and silver shoes.
The star was spotted in equally casual clothes on Wednesday afternoon as she stopped off for a coffee wearing the same coat, jeans and flat black lace up boots.
Katie appeared uncomfortable as she braved the wind, her face visibly wincing as she thrust her hands in her pockets while she walked, at one point stopping off for a coffee.
However, the star is a fashion fan, overseeing her own clothing line, the elegant Holmes and Yang.
Meanwhile, Katie denied a report on Tuesday that she is dating jazz musician Peter Cincotti.
The actress was linked to the 29-year-old American singer, songwriter and musician by Grazia magazine, who claimed the pair had been 'on a few dates'.

A source told Grazia magazine: 'It's early days, but they met up two weeks ago at the New York Observer's 25th anniversary party. They have a lot in common - he's a total stage buff.'

But a spokesperson for the star has since told MailOnline that the claims are false. A representative for Peter was unavailable for comment on Tuesday.
